Friendship

John 15:13    “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”

Friendship is one of the greatest gifts life has to offer. It allow us to give love, receive love. Friendship with one another  and sometime with the Lord is not always perfect. But always, the Lords friendship with us is always steadfast.

Jesus referred to Himself as the Vine and His followers as the branches. The Vine references the closeness Jesus’ desire to have with His disciples and us. He laid down His life so we might have everlasting life. He gave up his life for us. Think about that. He died for You.

Each one of us is as close to God as we choose to be. We draw close to God in prayer. He extends his friendship to us through his love for his children. We reflect our friendship to Christ through our obedience.

Broken Again

Job 23:10    “When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”

Sometime we experience the same trials over and over again. Day in, day out, repeatedly.  What does this mean? Maybe the Lord is trying to instruct you. Maybe your behavior or thoughts are contrary to who you are as His child. Could it be he is trying to lead you to understand you are not patterning your life to his will. The Lord may be trying to heal you of an destructive attitude that does not honor Him. Have you ever experienced this? I have?

This can be painful. We must let his power and wisdom flow through us. We must strive to stop depending on our limited resources and start relying wholeheartedly on Him. Trust Him fully.

God is wise, loving, and always looking out for you. Allow him to control every area of your life. Allow Him to determine the direction your life will take. Trust Him.

Stepping Out

Isaiah 42:16    “I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, in paths they do not know I will guide them.”

At times, God beckons us to step out into the unknown. Maybe it is the choices we make. Or maybe when we give advise to others. It can be scary. Have you ever given someone advise and then second guessed yourself. Did I make the right decision? What if my advise was wrong? Did I make a mistake?

Sometime we just have to rely on faith. Thrust that God will give you the presence to step out into the unknown with confidence. The Lord is always challenging us to venture beyond our safe zone. Trust him as he guides you.
